Thrifting for parties

Having a party is lots of fun, but can be quite an expense. If you are having a party and plan ahead, you could utilize yard sales and thrift stores to purchase items for your party and save on some of those party needs.

Some really great items that you may need to have a party, like large bowls or baskets for chips and dips you can usually pick up very inexpensively.
When I buy baskets, I clean them up a bit buy brushing them off and then spraying them with rubbing alcohol.
How about table linens, some thrift store options could be table cloths or how about some bed sheets. I was able to find some bed sheets in red, white and blue for a fourth of July picnic, they were $1.50 to 2.00 each, I ripped them up in large strips and layered them on a table and loved the the way the strips swayed in the breeze, I also ripped sheets into napkin sizes, for napkins and lining baskets for things like bread, rolls and chips. It turned out to be a very nice country look and was fast and easy.
